April 2009 Videos optimieren für youTube - Checkliste für Video-Seo video optimieren für youTube Ich verwalte drei youTube-Accounts. Den ersten habe ich vor fast zwei Jahren ins Leben gerufen: Dort zeige ich meine (künstlerischen) Speedpainting Videos. Der zweite ist der Video-Channel dieses Blogs (SEO, webdesign, image-search), den ich am 2. Februar 2009 eingerichtet habe. Der dritte Account ist noch ganz frisch und im “Schlummerzustand”. Er ist von meiner Firma DUPLICON und zeigt Trickfilm-Animationen von uns. Ich muss mal sehen, ob und wann wir den ausbauen werden. Meine “Kompetenz” in Sachen Videos-optimieren für youTube ziehe ich in erster Linie aus Erfahrungen und Tests, die ich mit meinem Videos gemacht habe. Dieser Artikel beschäftigt sich nun mit der Frage: “Wie kann man Videos für youTube optimieren?”. Ich möchte das in drei Kapiteln umreißen: Maßnahmen, die man beim Erstellen von Videos beachten sollte Maßnahmen, die man beim Beschreibung der Videos beachten sollte Maßnahmen, die beim Vernetzen von Videos hilfreich sind Zu beachten ist, dass alles, was unter Punkt 1 beschrieben wird, nicht mehr zu ändern ist. Ein Video, das einmal hochgeladen ist, kann nicht mehr bearbeitet und ersetzt werden. Anders ist es beim zweiten und dritten Punkt: diese Maßnahmen lassen sich ändern und steuern. 1. Worauf sollte man bei Erstellen von Videos achten? Speed painting Captain Jack Sparrow Das Wichtigste ist natürlich ein “dramaturgisches” und “stilistisch” gutes Video. Dieser Punkt kann und soll hier noch nicht beschrieben werden. Ich werde demnächst in einem eigenständigen Artikel auf Dinge wie Gliederung, Spannungsbogen, Intro, Extro, Rhythmus, Blickführung, Schnitte etc. eingehen.Hier geht es zunächst nur um die “formalen” Dinge. 1.1. Wasserzeichen im Video Ich würde empfehlen, den Videos (wie auch bei Bildern) ein Wasserzeichen zu verpassen. Man muss immer bedenken, dass man die Videos “Rechte-mäßig abverkauft” (Nachzulesen in den allgemeinen youTube Nutzungsbedingungen unter Punkt 10 “Rechte, die Sie einräumen”). Das heißt, man hat keinen Einfluss mehr darauf, wo und in welchen Zusammenhängen die Videos gezeigt werden. Da oft und gerne Videos “geklaut”, also heruntergeladen und unter eigenem Namen veröffentlicht werden, ist es sinnvoll, über ein Wasserzeichen wenigstens klar zu zeigen, wer Urheber des Videos ist. Ich setze in aller Regel meine Website in abgeblendeter Form in eine Ecke des Videos. Dabei sollte man nicht die rechte untere Ecke wählen, denn dort wird das youTube-Logo über dem video eingeblendet. 1.2. HD-Format - 16:9 Johannes Brahms - Trickfilm Animation Seit einiger Zeit empfehlt Google, die Videos in HD-Qualität (also Auflösung von 1280 x 720 Pixeln oder mehr). Auf der Google-Hilfe-Seite “Erste Schritte - Optimieren deiner Videos” hat Google das sogar fett dargestellt und sagt dazu “HD-Auflösung wird bevorzugt“. Ob das auch tatsächlich bedeutet, dass die Videos in Suchergebnis-Listen besser ranken, oder ob es eher meint “Wir würden uns wünschen, …”, weiß ich auch nicht. Auf jeden Fall: wenn man die Möglichkeit hat, ein HD-video in 16:9 zu erstellen, sollte man diese Variante der klassichen 4:3 Auflösung vorziehen. 1.3. Standbild anlegen bzw. bedenken Dieser Punkt ist extrem wichtig. Denn immerhin ist das Standbild das Entscheidungskriterium Nummer 1, ob man ein video aus einer Liste auswählt oder nicht. Da dieser Punkt jedoch recht komplex ist, widme ich ihm einen eigenständigen Artikel. Hier: “YouTube video - Preview-Standbild selber bestimmen” 1.4. video Dateiname Nach meinen Beobachtungen spielt der Video-Dateiname eine recht große Rolle. Es verhält sich ähnlich wie bei Bildern. Die keywords, die im Dateinamen enthalten sind, sind für das spätere Ranking in der youTube-Suche oder auch der google-Suche von großer Bedeutung. Diese Begriffe haben am meisten Power, wenn Video-Titel und Dateiname übereinstimmen oder sich zumindest ähneln. Ich würde daher empfehlen, sich immer vorher schon Gedanken zum Video-Titel zu machen und dann das Video-File genau so zu benennen (natürlich mit Bindestrichen statt Leerzeichen). Soviel zu den Video-immanenten Punkten. Komme ich nun also zu den externen Maßnahmen. Alles beginnt damit, dass man das video hochlädt. 2. Welche beschreibenden Text-Informationen sind wichtig? Speed typing Marilyn Monroe with Word Noch während des Uploads kann man mit Hilfe von Textinformationen das video spezifizieren und beschreiben. Dafür stehen drei Felder zur Verfügung: Titel, Beschreibung und Tags (Keywords). Die maximale Zeichenanzahl ist: Titel: 120 Zeichen Tags/Keywords: 120 Zeichen Beschreibung: 1000 Zeichen Diese Text-Informationen werden dem video direkt zugeordnet und sind daher für Suchmaschinen von großer Bedeutung. Es macht also Sinn, sich genau zu überlegen, was man dort einträgt. 2.1. Video-Titel Am wichtigsten - und das ist analog zum Seitentitel einer Webseite - ist der Videotitel. Wie oben beschrieben, ist die Übereinstimmung von Video-Dateiname und Titel am sinnvollsten. Der Videotitel sollte den Inhalt des Videos möglichst prägnant treffen. Denn er spielt für die spätere (automatische, youTube generierte) Verknüpfung des Videos eine große Rolle. 2.2. Video-Beschreibung Die Beschreibung bietet dann viel Platz, um den Inhalt des Videos zu beschreiben. Aber auch die Intention ist oft eine hilfreiche Information. Häufig möchte man ja ein video in einem bestimmten Kontext sehen. Und dann ist es hilfreich, Kontext-relevante Begriffe in die Beschreibung einzubauen. Es ist auch gestattet, und sogar von youTube/google ausdrücklich erwünscht, in den Beschreibungstext Links zu Websites einzubauen. Das bietet Seo-technisch eine Menge Möglichkeiten, auch wenn diese Links natürlich alle “nofollow” sind. Insgesamt kann/sollte man den Beschreibungstext genauso semantisch optimieren, wie man es mit Webseiten macht. 2.3. Video-Tags / Keywords Die Tags/Keywords sind an sich selbsterklärend. Von der Logik her bindet man das video damit in einen Kontext, der durch  die Begriffe definiert wird. Besonders in der youTube-internen Suche spielen die Tags ein wichtige Rolle. Aber da es zu den meisten Keywords tausende von Videos gibt, reicht das natürlich für eine Optimierung noch nicht aus. Wie man die Keywords für die Verlinkung nutzen kann, beschreibe ich im nächsten Abschnitt. 3. Vernetzung des Videos Ein video bei youTube kann noch so schön sein. Aber bei der Masse an Videos kann es einfach mal untergehen. Ein youTube-video braucht also eine Anschub-Vernetzung. Das kann in ein paar Minuten gemacht sein. Aber es kann auch Tage und Wochen dauern, je nachdem, welcher Maßnahme man wie viel Gewicht beimisst. 3.1. youTube Community und Social Web Backlinks - Verlinkung von Websites Neue Videos werden sowieso automatisch in aktuelle youTube-Listen (z.B. “Neu hinzugefügt”, “Meist gesehen heute”,  “Beste Bewertung diese Woche”, “Meiste Kommentare diesen Monat”) integriert. Es macht Sinn, sich am Anfang besonders zu engagieren, da man aus diesen Listen in der Regel viele Besucher erhalten kann. Wenn man bereits über ein Netzwerk von youTube-Freunden verfügt, kann man erst mal via youTube-Emailing über das neue video berichten. Um sich ein Netz von Freunden und Abonennten aufzubauen, muss man zunächst einmal etwas arbeiten. Wer Freunde sucht, bekommt auch welche. Wer freundlich ist, bekommt noch mehr. Wer Kontakt zu anderen sucht (z.B. durch Abonieren eines Kanals), der wird auch selber leichter aboniert. Bei jedem Kommentar, den man in einem anderen video abgibt, wird über den Benutzernamen auch der eigene Kanal verlinkt. Und natürlich kann man auch andere Kanäle kommentieren. Auch das bringt wieder eine Reihe interessierter Besucher auf die eigene Seite. Zusammenfassen gilt für youTube Netzwerke, was eigentlich für alle gilt: freundlich sein andere Videos und Kanäle ansehen den eigenen Kontext / die eigene Community suchen die Kontakte über Kommentare pflegen Und natürlich kann man über die youTube-Community hinaus noch alle möglichen Bookmark und Bewertungssysteme mit dem neuen video füttern. Ich habe zum Beispiel mal via Digg an einem Tag über 150.000 Visits erhalten (das war allerdings ein video auf 5min, Jack Sparrow). Ich muss allerdings zugeben, dass die zwei, drei Male, wo ich meine eigenen Videos eingestellt habe, voll in die Hose gegangen sind. Viele Communities mögen es gar nicht, wenn man sein eigene Zeug promotet. Wenn man es clever anstellt, findet man vielleicht jemanden anderes, die die Listung für einen übernimmt… 3.2. Videoantworten Unterhalb der Videos gibt es eine Zeile, in der rechts “Videoantworten” steht. Wenn man dort klickt, erhält man eine Liste der eigenen Videos, aus denen man eine Videoantwort auswählen kann. Tut man das, so wird auf der Ursprungsseite das eigene video an sehr prominenter Stelle eingeblendet. Es wird praktisch von allen Betrachtern wahrgenommen - und auch häufig geklickt. This month we talked a bit about video seo and video marketing basics. To say that we had some technical challenges would be an understatement! My laptop wireless became all hosed up by the time we started to play the videos embedded into the presentation. After much fumbling, Adam pulled up the slides on this laptop and we switched to that. His played them much better, but not perfectly. Then we shot a little video to edit with the free Windows Movie Maker (to show that it’s really not hard to do), and Adam’s MM kept crashing. Over and over. So we switched BACK to my laptop, but the internet was still hosed, so I couldn’t upload the video. It was a bloody mess! HA! We met at the Milwood Library , which seats 50 people, instead of Texpresso (where we were always cramped), but the rows of seats definitely made it less social. (Plus, I wanted some coffee!) We had some new faces comes - which was awesome - plus some veterans who have been to every meeting! (Love you guys!) All in all it went well, but I wish we had more time to cover more things. I hate thinking that some people might have left missing some info. As usual, here’s the slide deck. Non-YouTube videos wouldn’t embed, so just click the links. Figure 1. Blackhat seo links for Farrah Fawcett searches sets in Hosted on is-the-boss domains (last seen in the H1N1 blackhat seo attack), the links that come up in search results redirect to other URLs that eventually land on all-too-familiar territory: a rogue antivirus download. In one specific infection chain traced by Research Manager Ivan Macalintal, the initial link redirects to another URL in the same domain, and then redirects another URL that has referrer checks before unfolding its contents. This is an evasion technique used by cybercriminals to avoid analysis by security researchers or being crawled (and rated) by search engines. Once the requester is cleared, the URL redirects to two more URLs before finally landing on a download page (within a certain thesecuritytools domain–now blocked by Trend Micro). The page downloads install.exe, which is a rogue antivirus detected as TROJ_FAKEAV.BBM. As this report is being written our engineers are analyzing the behavior of this malware. Trend Micro Smart Protection Network already blocks malicious URLs related to this attack. Not long after news of Farrah Fawcett’s passing hit mainstream news, singer/entertainer Michael Jackson likewise meets an untimely death. Users are advised to exercise extreme caution in searching for related news and information surrounding the deaths of these celebrities. One of the more famous blackhat seo manipulation attack we have documented thus far include the attack that happened shortly after Heath Ledger’s death. Update (2:30 am (UTC-7)): TROJ_FAKEAV.BBM behaves fairly similarly to other rogue antivirus we’ve seen to date. Here’s a screenshot of its “scanning window”: Figure 2. Swoopo – Schnäppchen oder nicht? Ich hatte im Internet wie viele andere auch nach einem günstigen Notebook bzw. Netbook gesucht und bin da auf Swoopo gestossen. Die Angebote sind schon sehr interessant und auch anscheinend günstig zu haben. Also habe ich mir die Internetseiten angeschaut und mich daraufhin gleich angemeldet. Um überhaupt mitbieten zu können, musste man sich einen Betrag von mindestens 10 Euro gleich 20 Bids kaufen. Also ein Bid kostet gleich 0,50 Euro. Als Willkommensgruss hat man 15 Euro als Gutschein erhalten. Ich konnte aber leider nicht erkennen und auch nicht nachlesen wie man diese einlösen konnte. Also habe ich erst einmal mit 20 Bids angefangen. Ich habe mir dann einige Produkte angesehen, die mich interessierten und habe dann auch gleich geboten. Ausserdem habe ich dann auch noch die Gebote über den BietButler abgegeben, da es ein wahnsinniger Aufwand ist die ganze Zeit am PC ‘rumzuhängen und zu beobachten, ob man das Produkt erhält oder nicht. Das Problem ist nämlich, dass bei jedem Gebot wieder 15 oder 20 Sekunden hinzugezählt werden; d. h., das dass Angebot nicht zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt wie bei ebay beendet ist, sondern, dass bei jedem neuen Gebot 15 oder 20 Sekunden hinzugezählt werden. So verliert man ganz schnell sein eingesetztes Geld. Ich habe letztendlich dann nach 2 Tagen das Konto bei Swoopo wieder gekündigt, da ich der Meinung bin, dass dieses Geschäftsmodell eine ganz heftige Abzocke ist und rate von Swoopo und ähnlichen Geschäftsmodellen dringend ab. Da mich im nachhinein noch interessierte, ob es noch weitere Meinungen zu solchen Geschäftmodellen (Hammerdeal ist  z. B. auch so eine Abzocke)  in Foren, Blogs, etc. gibt, habe ich das Internet durchstöbert. Insgesamt sind viele Personen derselben Meinung wie ich und versuchen anscheinend auch gegen solche Firmen vorzugehen. Tools für seo und Webmaster-Hilfen Folgende PlugIns und Tools empfehle ich, um deine Webseiten zu prüfen und um zu sehen, wie suchmaschinenfreundlich deine Seiten sind – Thema Suchmaschinenoptimierung (SEO). Am besten arbeitest du mit dem Mozilla Firefox, da dieser Webbrowser hervorragende PlugIns für Suchmaschinenoptimierer hat. Diese Liste beinhaltet die wichtigsten PlugIns und Tools, damit du prüfen kannst, ob du deine Website auf den richtigen Weg suchmaschinenoptimiert erstellst. Da die OpenSource Gemeinde ziemlich fleißig und schnell mit dem Programmieren neuer PlugIns und Tools ist, kann es natürlich sein, dass es bald wieder bessere Erweiterungen gibt. So ist das aber nun mal und wenn dir hier ein sehr wichtiges PlugIn oder Tool fehlt, dann melde dich doch.   CustomizeGoogle Ermöglicht zahlreiche individuelle Einstellungen für Google-Seiten. Z.B. können Links zu Treffern anderer Suchmaschinen (Yahoo, MSN etc.) in den Google-Suchergebnissen angezeigt sowie Werbung und Spam auf Google entfernt werden.   Flash Killer Mit dem Flash Killer kannst du bei Aktivierung erkennen, welche Elemente Flash enthalten und wie deine Seite dann dargestellt wird.   GooglePreview Fügt Vorschaubilder von Websites in die Google- und Yahoo-Suchergebnisse ein.   Google Webmasters Mit dem Google Webmasters "Tool" kannst du deine Sitemap eintragen, du siehst, welche Seiten der Googlebot gefunden hat, du kannst erkennen, welche Suchbegriffe von den Internetnutzern eingegeben werden, du siehst, welche Seiten nicht gefunden werden (Fehlermeldung 404 ausgeben), …   IE Tab Mit dem Plugin IE Tab kannst du im Firefox auch sehen, wie deine Website im Internet Explorer aussieht.   Keyword-Tool (Google AdWords) Um zu sehen, welche Keywords die Internetnutzer eingeben, ist das Keyword-Tool von Google AdWords sehr hilfreich.   Keyword-Tool von rankingCHECK Die Datenbank enthält ca. 90 Millionen echte Suchbegriffe von wichtigen deutschen Suchmaschinen. Die Datenbank wir 3mal die Woche aktualisiert.   Keyword-Tool von MIVA Vom drittgrößten SEM-Anbieter MIVA gibt es auch ein Keyword-Tool.   LinkChecker Mit LinkChecker kannst du schnell prüfen, ob noch alle Links auf deiner Website aktuell sind.   Linkpopularität Dieses Tool ist mir von Tadeusz Szewczyk empfohlen worden (siehe Kommentar). Vielen Dank. Ansonsten kannst du auch mit dem Tool von de.linkvendor.com (Firma searchmetrics) die Linkpopularität testen (siehe Hinweis unten).   Lynx (Textbasierter Webbrowser) Mit Lynx kannst du prüfen, ob deine Website suchmaschinenkonform ist.   Ranking der Keywords prüfen (Free Monitor for Google) Mit dem kostenlosen Tool Free Monitor for Google kannst du deine Keywords prüfen.   Search Status Das PlugIn Search Status unterstützt dein EGO. Es zeigt den Google PageRank sowie den Alexa Rank.   Total Validator Mit dem Total Validator kannst du prüfen, ob deine Seite W3C konform ist. Ausserdem siehst du, wie bestimmte Seiten weitergeleitet werden – per 301 oder 302.   WebDeveloper in deutsch Mit diesem PlugIn kannst du zum Beispiel prüfen, ob die Titile, Alt- und MetaTags auf deiner Seite vergeben sind. Ebenso kannst du prüfen, ob deine Seite W3C konform (also HTML-, CSS-valide) ist..Mit  dem PlugIn WebDeveloper kannst du  kontrollieren, wie deine Seite bei einer bestimmten Bildschirmgröße aussieht oder JavaScript, Cache, Weiterleitungen deaktivieren und noch einiges mehr.   Dann möchte ich noch einige Dienstleister empfehlen, die gleich mehrere kostenlose und auch kostenpflichtige seo Tools zur Verfügung stellen. Dean from Digital Point forums offers the 31 off-site techniques he used to achieve search engine optimisation (SEO) and get all his sites ranked #1 on Google.
Dean says all these techniques do work, although it is very important you have a strategy to implement them.
Contact site owners; give them relevant articles in exchange for links. When contacting the site owners, do not ask, “Hey do you want an article for your site but I’ve my link in it?” He will just say no. Say it like, “Hey, I have some really good articles that might interest you and your readers. I’ve also included my URL but feel free to remove it if you don’t like the article.” 90% of time the link is left in the article if it’s good.
Add articles to article directories with relevant links back to site. Track these articles and offer more articles free in exchange for links when other websites pick them up. You should also cross-link all your articles to pass link juice. Make sure it doesn’t look as spammy and gives more credibility.
Contact site owners for link exchange – try think outside the box here. For instance, type in your main keyword in Google, go to the third or forth page, sites on these pages usually have a good PR and are willing to exchange links compared to page 1 sites. Check if the link page is recently cached and has less than 50 links. Check and try going for “dofollow” sites.
Contact site owners and ask them if they are willing to cover a keyword on their existing article to point back to your site in exchange for articles with your links.
Copy all of your competitors’ backlinks (try using seo Elite for this, it shows a lot of different IP addresses).
Use Isnare article distribution. Be carefully using this — make sure you have quality backlinks first and only use once a week, or twice at the most.

Social bookmaking from different IPs
Create self-building sites using PR Pumper on different IP addresses. Build 20 mini niche sites. Each site should focus on one or two keywords of your money site. Build links to these sites and also PR. Then, pass the PR to your money site and link out to your competitors once or twice so that it looks more natural.
Post internal URLs to deep-linking directories
Submit to all the top article directories
Try link baiting (quizzes, buzz, lists, humor, etc)
Write something very controversial and post it on your site — this method made Dean approx. €11,000 within a month for one article!

Subscribe to Google groups. Ask questions and leave answers that include your link

Not doing Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) may cause your blog to tank faster than the Titanic. So what’s the point of keeping a blog when you wanna let it tank? Oklah, to make it clear I’m of course not referring to those typical emo-oriented bloggers who just wanna keep a blog to express their feelings, views, bla bla bla with no intention to make it popular.
A few months back, I totally got a shock to discover so many domains are cropping up in the Malaysian blogosphere — with a majority of the sites being a blog. When I checked some of the sites, first off, yes a few of them managed to come out with appealing titles; the rest generally had horrible titles. They also don’t follow the rules of SEO.
Doing seo means giving consideration to your onsite optimisation factors. Like mentioned before, the factors increase your chances of achieving high search engine results pages (SERPs).
Here is how you could prepare your new blog for easy indexing on Google by following the seo rules:
Design your content in simply html if possible. Avoid complex codes such as those of Java script or flash. This is to enable Google spider to read your blog more easily and get it indexed as fast as possible.
Like I have stressed many times before, do meta tag optimisation!
H1, H2, H3 and “bold” tags are great to call attention to your content and promote the keywords in those tags. The keywords will determine which terms your blog will rank for. Try to use any of these tags at least once in your content to increase keyword density.
In addition to these onsite factors, you also need to focus on other initiatives, which includes link building and better accessibility for Google spider:
Including a sitemap on your blog, which might not be of any use to human, makes it easy for search engines to access all of your blog posts and index your blog accordingly. Sitemap could be in both html or xml format. In the case of MrDefinite.com, sitemap is an xml one placed on the menu bar and generated by the superb XML Sitemap Generator. Make sure to place a link to your xml sitemap on your blog so that Google spider will find it much more easily!
Begin link exchange (possibly with the “dofollow” tag) with a partners to increase your backlinks. A “dofollow” link serves as a “vote” that affects the PageRank (PR) of your blog and relevence on SERPs.
Content is the king — always come out with new, quality content! If you want, you may ask your friends or even readers to contribute content to your blog. When Google sees new content, they rejoice!
The basic ideas as outlined above serves as a strong foundation to excel on SERPs and eventually drive traffic to your new blog. Don’t let you blog sink faster than the Titanic in the sea of a bazillion websites!
