Heavily Armed Glenn Beck Fan & Tea Bagger Arrested at National Guard Base
Posted by FoxNewsBoycott on Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Filed under Glenn Beck Tagged arrest, Glenn Beck, Nancy Genovese, National Guard, Tea Bagging
Nancy Genovese, paranoid about FEMA camps, was arrested for trespassing at an Air National Guard Base, while scouting out and photographing the base, armed with a shotgun, a XM-15 assault rifle and 500 rounds of ammunition. This is after she had previously questioned base guards and had been warned for weeks to stay off the base property You can check out her affinity for Glenn Beck and right wing militancy at her archived MySpace page, on which she posted, “He is mad as hell and so are we. He is right and so are we. ” along with a Glenn Beck video. She also called for a boycott of MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS & NBC. But, that’s not all… she also twittered about tea bagging, which we all know Fox news and Glenn Beck helped promote. The video shows the following statement from Beck, which is a clear indication of a direct connection between Genovese’s paranoia and Beck’s fear mongering. BECK: We are coming. We will be heard. We will be represented. You think that we are so busy with our lives that we will never come for you. And we were. But now you’ve gone and done it. We are the formally silent majority, all of us. Quietly work, pay our taxes, obey the laws, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone – now looking up at you. You have awakened us, and a patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful. It had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Original Story Tweet This Post Related posts:Glenn Beck & Fox news Promoting Tea Parties. Again. Gretchen Carlson Gets Cash For Clunker Stat Wrong
Posted by FoxNewsBoycott on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009
Filed under Fox & Friends Tagged cash for clunkers, Gretchen Carlson, truth
Fox & Friends host Gretchen Carlson claimed to have performed some “crack research” about the Cash for Clunkers program, but you’d have to be smoking crack to believe it… CARLSON: By the way, I did my own crack research yesterday, spent a tremendous amount of time on this yesterday finding out information. In my home state of Minnesota, so far only two of these deals have actually been approved – DOOCY: That’s all? CARLSON: — by the government. DOOCY: Wow. CARLSON: Two in the entire state of Minnesota. And then you wonder about whether or not these dealers feel like they’re going to get their money from the government. Not so sure. It’s not as if she misspoke and then corrected herself. She actually believes she’s right. The fact of the matter is Minnesota Automobile Dealers Association’s study shows that out of the 7,500 submissions, the government has approved 2 percent, which would be 150. And only 8 percent have been rejected. Democrats.com Joins With FNB In Fox news Boycott

Filed under Site News Tagged boycott, Democrats, Democrats.com, Fox News, FoxNewsBoycott.com, Glenn Beck, petition
On July 24, 2007 Democrats.com prompted a boycott of Fox News, calling it “the propaganda arm of the Republican party, willing to twist facts and even lie to promote the Republican agenda.” Their boycott page has been updated to include background information such as Glenn Beck agreeing with guest that wants the U.S. attacked by terrorists again,  Glenn Beck calling President Obama a racist and, most recently, Glenn Beck joking about poisoning Nancy Pelosi. As of August 9, 2009, Democrats.com now includes the following statement: We join with FoxNewsBoycott and other groups in this boycott. Read the latest update from wikoogle, which includes advertiser phone numbers if you’d like to call: 8/9/09 Thank you for the support! Fox news Falsehood About Pelosi Calling Protesters Nazis
Posted by FoxNewsBoycott on Tuesday, August 11th, 2009
Filed under Fox News Tagged Fox News, Gregg Jarrett, lies, Nancy Pelosi, Nazis, protest, truth
Gregg Jarrett, an anchor on Fox News, falsely claimed that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi “sort of suggested that any American citizen who dared voice an objection in a protest is a Nazi, apparently based on one isolated incident.” The truth is that she’s never called a protester a Nazi, compared a protesters to Nazis, or anything of the sort. What she really said, at more than “one isolated incident” is that some protesters turning out at Town Hall meetings were carrying signs with swastikas and Nazi-related symbols. JARRETT: First of all, in the beginning, Pelosi sort of suggested that any American citizen who dared voice an objection in a protest is a Nazi, apparently based on one isolated incident. But now, she’s stepped it up and she’s labeling protesters “un-American.” Isn’t that destructive rather than constructive? What Nancy Pelosi really said: PELOSI: I think they’re Astroturf; you be the judge. They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care. And it’s absolutely true. Click to enlarge And it’s not just signs – vandals have struck Congressman David Scott’s (D-GA) office and spray painted a large swastika over his name. If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to our RSS feed or or follow us on Twitter for all news on Web of Mimicry, Faith No More, Ipecac and related bands and musos. Hey party people, it’s almost the weekend and to help get you through the working week here’s a few little tidbits of news not worthy of their own posts. A new Faith No More news site has now opened for business, FNM 2.0. Bad news on the Mondo Cane front, word is the album release has been pushed back till at least November. A nice review of the new Fantastic Terrific Munkle album, Music to Dance To, at dBmagazine. A new Kids of Whidney High comic book is due to hit streets shortly (more info on this to come soon). A new mexican interview with Mike (headsup, it’s in spanish). An interesting excert: Coinciding with his concert with Zu in the country, Mike Patton has spoken to Mexican newspaper La Jornada and given his first public comment on the Faith No More reunion. He said: “I wasn’t ready before, I had too many things to get rid of that I had inside of me. Now I am a different person, I have my own thing. I feel more comfortable about my past now, compared to my previous attitude, the “the fuck with this” attitude I used to have..well, in a way I still have. The article also mentions that Faith No More will likely play in Mexico and South America later this year or early next year. Also keep an eye on the blog for the Umlaut debut album give-a-way (sorry for the delay, I’m so slack I know), my munkle album review, and possibly a Munkle album give-a-way as well (fingers crossed). BTW, I got to see Munkle last night at the Basement in Sydney for their album launch. so good….. On that note, here’s a goatee with a life of it’s own: Related Posts: The Exiles at the AnnandaleAboutUmläut and Mike update  Email This Post |  Print This Post | 2,304 views Tags: Faith No More, fantastic terrific munkle, Mike Patton This entry was posted on Thursday, March 26th, 2009 at 11:36 pmand is filed under Danny Heifetz, Faith No More, Mike Patton. Awesome News! (And, a Break From Blogging)
In what’s been a whirlwind of a couple weeks, I interviewed and was offered (and am accepting!) a job in another state. As we (my family and I) pack and move, I don’t envision myself having a ton of time for blogging. I’ll try to keep going with the occasional del.icio.us link post, and get back to regular posting in about a month or so. (And, I’ll have some new insights for my series on finding an Ed Tech job!) Thanks for your patience! Popularity: 46% [?]Share This

Mailbox news Stories January 12th, 2009
Last week I was contacted Monica Sotomayor, a journalist from FlashNews, who loved “the quirky concept” of my blog and wrote a story about my site for the news wire. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 Ugly Mailboxes Make Neighbors Go Postal PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (Wireless Flash – FlashNews) – Some people go postal over the sight of an ugly mailbox. Uglymailbox.com is a website that features pictures of hideous, weird, and unique mailboxes from all over the world. Among the wacky creations is a mailbox shaped like a microwave, a mailbox held up by an elaborate tin robot, one shaped like a circus caravan – lion and all – and one in the likeness of the Taj Mahal. Site founder Linda Fannin-Church believes people deck out their mailboxes as a form of self-expression, though really tacky ones can cause trouble with neighbors. She once posted a picture of a mailbox shaped like a weird deer and people from its Michigan neighborhood bombarded her website with disapproving comments. They complained that the mailbox was so ugly, it was making the entire neighborhood look bad and demanded reform. However, not everyone hates manic mailboxes. Fannin-Church imagines that the creative ones make postal workers smile because it breaks up the monotony of their route, though she has yet to hear feedback from an actual mailman. Copyright © 2008 Wireless Flash news Inc. All rights reserved. Wireless Flash® and FlashNews® are registered trademarks of Wireless Flash news Inc. As a result I was asked to do a couple radio “phoners”, one with Phil Parker of pH pHactor on KFYR in Bismark, North Dakota. Then I spoke with Brent Farris from KZST -Sonoma County, CA. I have the recording of the KFYR show. UglyMailbox Radio Interview I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who’s submitted mailbox photos, subscribed to my site, visited and commented. It’s nice to know that crazy has company

China news Links July 17, 2007 July 18, 2007 by Mommy Zabs   Filed under Books, International, Social Action Leave a comment Chinese Government is at it again (no surprise here) and is set on destroying 3 home churches. You may want to look on your tee shirt tags to see where your shirts came from. Just take a look at these photos of a contaminated cotton factory and the slave labor going on therein. A book on China human rights lawyer Gao Zheshing just came out. I will be ordering it shortly and adding it to my booklist. Here is a teaser: Yet no words, however strong, can possibly describe the darkness and terrible barbarity of today’s dictators in China, nor the tragic annihilation of Chinese culture that they have perpetrated. Though I have strived to convey these qualities through my writing, having attempted to unveil merely one corner of China’s darkness, I cannot help but feel the futility and frailty of language. In today’s China, where the forces of incivility run rampant, it is common practice to mock what is beautiful and to beautify what is vile. A pathological China is not ready for what I write. But I hope such a China will soon emerge. I will add that Gao is also a Christian. Read a full book review on A China More Just. Read previous news items on Gao Zheshing. (2760 subscribers) Friendly Bit Search: Why people skip newspapers and read news on the web instead You can’t be involved with what’s happening on the internet without coming in contact with the “newspaper crisis” somehow. From a business perspective it’s simple really: Much fewer people buy newspapers (on paper) nowadays. Please note that this has very little to do with advertisement or business models, I’m talking about newspapers from the user perspective here. Internet is really a commodity nowadays. People process loads of  information on the web every day, and this of course affects how they expect newspapers to behave. Every time I hold a big newspaper in my hands I’m surprised at how inferior it is compared to reading news on the web. Newspapers have problems with references If I find an interesting news story on the front page, it’s a mess finding the full article in there. The references are done with page numbers, but with page numbers that are local to a certain part of the paper. “Culture, page 7″. And the culture part is stacked inside the part I’m reading, so I first have to find that one, then find the page numbers (which are removed from pages with ads), and then finally find the article I wanted. The same is true for related articles. If I read an article I like, it’s quite likely that I want to read other articles on the same subject. Newspapers solve this today by placing similar articles close to each other, and hope that you see them. This is of course limited, and gets harder when pages sizes shrink. Compare this with clicking a link on the web. If I find an interesting article teaser, I click it, and am instantly taken to the full article. If that article was indeed as interesting as the teaser suggested, I’m often presented with similar articles, from similar categories, and can click them to move there. Newspapers are slow Even the most frequently published papers are only distributed once per day. This simply means that papers can’t compete on speed, being first with a certain story. Even if you happen to get your hands on a story at the perfect time, a paper still have to be both printed, and distributed to people. This takes hours. What’s worse, morning newspapers brand themselves as dealing with  “today’s news”, when in fact it’s the news from yesterday. This hasn’t been a problem before, since there was no faster way to get news. Now there is. If speed is important to you, you can easily subscribe to news via e-mail, Twitter or RSS, and be instantly updated. Newspapers are static Articles in a newspaper are, once published, not possible to update and improve. They are left for the wind, even though there are inaccuracies or important clarifications to be made. Any conversation sparked won’t be there. This is of course the strongest argument for internet news. A big article will be different if you look at it later the same day. Comments and updates based on feedback are able to improve articles considerably. Newspapers don’t have enough unique content Big parts of daily newspapers contain poor rewrites, or plain copies, of articles from elsewhere. The reasoning is probably that they are trying to be exhaustive, give a broad view of what has happened. Problem is, they are hiding their own unique content behind loads of reposts of other’s content. The same happens on the web, but instead of copying the article you link to it. Then you get to read the news from the real source, and dig in deeper if you want to. Additionally, there’s safegards that stop people from copying other people’s content. For instance, Google have special filters for filtering out duplicate content. Newspapers are not relevant enough The biggest reason why I don’t subscribe to any newspapers is that they are not relevant enough. I’m not one bit interested in sports, and still, during big sporting events newspapers push them to the front page, over interesting internet-related news; things I find interesting. The key here is of course to realize that relevancy is in the eye of the beholder. Only I know what I find interesting, and relevant. Why trust someone else’s relevancy ranking when I can easily get my own ranking online? Even if I don’t want to tailor-pick RSS feeds and build my own custom news feed, there’s someone out there that has more similar taste than the four major newspapers here. So, what should newspapers do? Well, they have two options: One, they could keep writing articles, hoping that the quality will be high enough to turn the trend, or Two, they could start thinking of how they deliver news. The expectation of how news should be served is changing. It now needs to be delivered… … filled with references for digging deeper … faster than once a day … in a manner where people’s contributions enhance it … with a quality stamp that ensures that you’re reading something you couldn’t get anywhere else … personalized to my own specific taste. No sports. Is there any other way to do this than focusing aggressively on the web, and less on dead trees?
