Social Media Speaking Business Uncategorized Article marketing for Coaches: The Life Coaches Guide to Article ideas that Multiply Posted by Melody Campbell on March 19, 2009 · 3 Comments   Chris Brogan Inspired I have a mindset for framing posts that will hopefully be useful to my community, while also being worthwhile to my business (I derive a high percentage of business referrals from my blog posts). Chris Brogan One of my fav blogs to read and comment on is Chris Brogan’s blog. This last week he posted 20 Blog Topics to Get You Unstuck . I liked his list and wanted to create one of my own - or I will expand on some of the topic ideas from Chris’s list. The opening quote from the same post is the exact mind set I teach my coaching clients to cultivate. Useful to your ideal client (your community of ideal clients) Worthwhile to your business - lead generation Okay, so here’s my list of article ideas that multiply: Start with who, what, when where, why and how. who is my ideal client (examples: parents, CEO, small business owner) who surrounds my ideal client (examples: children, employees, other small business owners) who would your ideal client like to spend more time with / less time with what does your ideal client want? what questions does your ideal client have? what challenges does your ideal client have? what mistakes does your ideal client make? when does your ideal client get inspired? when is your ideal client happy? when did your ideal client last read a book, take a vacation, go out to dinner - why not more often? where is your ideal client? where does your ideal client want to be? where can your ideal client find resources? where are the mentors that your ideal client admires? why should your ideal client do some thing (any particular thing) why invest in books, training, resources to meet your ideal client’s needs? why set goals, make changes, etc why not… how to … well you know Make a list! List are great as a creative brainstorm idea not only for your own article ideas - Top 10 - The Best, The Worst, 7 tips Favorite resources - what are your favorite resources that apply to your coaching message. They can be online or off line resources. Favorite blogs - Make a list of your favorite blogs that are content rich with information that would appeal to your ideal client. Share a recipe - Recipes are not limited to food. What about a recipe for social media zen ? What about a recipe for better employee relationships. Do over - What if you could do something over,  how would you do it, what would you do? (#20 on Chris Brogan’s list) Survey Says… - Conduct a survey on Twitter ? Ask a question and see what comes back? Use other survey tools, ask the questions to your blog readers, to your email list, or on your social networking groups. Fantasy Island - Create a fantasy world. What would a perfect parenting day look like? What would a perfect workplace function like? Ewwww! Bugs - what about pet peeves? Current events - what is going on in your world? in your ideal clients world? in the big, big world beyond you and your client and why does it matter? Industry buzz - what is happening in your industry and how it important to your ideal client. FAQ - what are the frequently asked questions that surround your area of expertise. If you’re not sure than join discussion groups and forums to get real live questions from your ideal clients. Make a list of the questions and answer them on your blog or in an article. Myths that need busting - what are some common myths that your ideal client might be held back by and how can your bust the myth and remove the barrier? Rock Star Articles ! - Interview the “rock stars” or experts that your ideal client would love to hear from. I do this ever week on my Internet radio show Get More Business . Create articles from the interviews (Hey, that’s a good idea! I think I’ll start doing that.) Have some fun! - Tell some funny stories. What are some of the funnies things that happen on the job, or in a preschool class? Nostalgia - how have things changed in your area of expertise and why is it better, or not? Review a book, a movie, a play or a commercial - look for lessons that can be applied using your coaching message. Take a tour - Visit every business on the top 100 places to work and write a blog post. Visit the top 10 kid friendly restaurants and create a check list of key things parents should watch for when dining out. Write about a client conversation - anonymously of course. There’s a really good chance that if it’s a question, concern or insight of one client it could be one that would apply to others. Lessons learned - we learn lessons all day every day if we look for them - lessons we learn from our children that apply to business - lessons that we learn from business that can be applied to parenting children. Lessons from our pets, or strangers, or…. In a word - pick a word that inspires you and define it, expand it, associate it with your coaching message and apply it some some insight that your ideal client needs. Take any of these and apply the who, what, when, where, why and how. ideas will proliferate if you begin to train your mind to think like your client, not like a coach. Publishing articles is free. If your article is rich with the words and phrases that your prospects use to search for answers your articles will be found. These samples of your expertise have the potential to capture the attention & interest, inspire desire and ultimately action. Articles work like untiring sales reps caring  your coaching message as far as your key words reach. It’s not too late to get started. Who else would enjoy this? Home About Contact Me Internet marketing Tips Every single tip, drive your business better… Search for: Why is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Important? Why Email Marketing? Sharing Joint Venture Ideas May 31st, 2009 Are you not sure how you can get into joint ventures? Here are some ideas that may give you an initial knowledge on the kind of business you want to get into. 1. One of the simplest method of joint ventures is text link or banner exchange. You get to exchange these things with websites that are offering related products or services. If you start looking, you will find that there are a lot of companies that have what you have. 2. Sharing of websites with another that is targeting the same market. This basically means you get to share advertising and marketing with that site for half the price but with doubled traffic. 3. Exchanging of endorsements and reviews for both your products and services . Give and take. You write something about them and they write something about you too. Since you both know your products well, this is one form of getting credibility. 4. Combining products or services into a package with related businesses can also be an option. Your buyers will be more than glad to avail of what you are offering since they know that they are getting a good deal. When the profits start rolling, both of you can share them. 5. Products or services that do not sell good should not be left aside. Instead, try to offer them as an added bonus for another company. You can ask for a minimal share of the profits gained. 6. Volunteering a space for another business’ ads into your product endorsements. In exchange, you can ask them to do the same thing to their business as you have done with them. This is an effective way of expanding your visibility plus reaching further to other markets not on yours. 7. Trading of auto-responders or ezines with business having the same type of market. 8. Work together with related businesses to produce a promotional e-book to be given away. Publish your web site ads in the e-book then give them all away for free. 9. Sponsoring a virtual trade show or seminar with another business. On these shows, try to include each other’s promotional bits and pieces. 10. Create a freeware program. Put in a promotional ad for each of your businesses in the program. Submit it to free sites and freeware. In joint ventures, the idea is to give and receive. You can boost your marketing publicity with no problem at all by placing your advertisement on free stuff and allowing other people to give it away. The more people that give away your free stuff, the more your ad will be seen and exposed. Unlike what you initially thought, many free stuff can be made effortlessly and without or little expense needed. Electronic freebies are perfect because with these types of freebies, you would not have to worry about shipping or physical material costs. Below are some of the more popular kinds of electronic freebies you may want to take advantage of to make joint ventures work for you. 1. Free e-Books. Present these to your visitors. The e-book should tell something about your web site and what is offering. 2. Free e-Coupons or e-Gift Certificates. Give out free electronic coupons and gift certificates to your visitors so they will have an idea about your products or services. 3. Free e-Courses. Provide your visitors free electronic courses. They could e-mail your follow-up autoresponder to be able to get a free lesson everyday. 4. Free e-Reports. The reports could be in autoresponder form or in text format. In these reports, inform them about what your product or service is about and how it will benefit them. 5. Free Software. A lot of people are a sucker for free software. It could be a game or a useful utility. Have them download easily straight from your website. 6. Free Online Services or Utilities. Since most people are online most of the time, these freebies should be more than useful. They should also be ready to use right from your web site. When you have decided on which type of joint ventures suit you the most, you can make use of this freebie strategy so your advertising will rapidly spread on the internet. This entry was posted

Cookie Diet Tips August 18th, 2009
Powered by Max Banner Ads Ok, no spam first of all!!! Secondly, please don’t waste your time giving me a other healthy recipe. Point is, I don’t want a cookie recipe with any extra added calories. I just want like a hard formed shaped cookie seasoned with cinnamon. I know it sounds weird, but I’m kind of getting tired of just eating the soft texture of oatmeal. ENTERTAINING, SPECIAL occasions | July 31, 2009 Rustic Decor ideas from Starbucks 15th Ave. Coffee & Tea Many people, including couples who are getting married, opt for a rustic party theme. These are good reasons for that. It is style that is inviting, that feels warm and cozy. You may have heard that Starbucks opened a new store concept, the 15th Ave. Coffee & Tea. Despite the design controversy, there are decor ideas that you can reclaim for your next rustic decor party. What caught my attention are in details. As you know, details are what transform an ordinary party into an extraordinary adventure. The first item that I noticed is the old style teakettle. I think it is gorgeous. Setting an area outside for guest dogs to drink water is a nice touch when you are having a barbecue at the cottage or a long drive from home. Another design idea that is worth recycling for a big party is the self-served counter. It has the charm of the general stores. Think how you could use that concept to serve food instead of setting a predictable buffet table. It is simple to reproduce the look. Visit flea markets to get your hands on vintage wood boxes. Secure them at an angle. Bad ideas for April Fool’s Day Pranks
Posted by: Chelle on March 31st, 2009 with 20 Comments
ADVERTISEMENT
Happy April Fool’s Day Everybody! I’m not much of a prankster by nature, but I know some people will certainly be pulling a few pranks today so I decided to create a post all about pranks NOT to pull. There’s quite a few pranks that even though they may appear to be slightly harmless can actually have some pretty devastating consequences. There’s plenty of pranks gone wrong plastered all over the internet. So, here’s my list of bad ideas for April Fool’s Day Pranks. 1. Tell Your Partner You’re Cheating On Them: I have no idea why anyone would think this would be a good prank to tell someone you’ve been cheating on them, but this video clip below shows you exactly how this one can backfire on you: Cheating Husband Prank Call - Funny home videos are a click away 2. Prank Call the Cops: Yes, people have really thought it would be funny to prank call the cops. Until they end up getting caught and arrested of course. Keep the police out of it my friends. For that matter, don’t think about the fire department, emergency services, or any other authority type figures you can think of. 3. Pretending to Run People Over: Of course you don’t plan on really running anybody over of course. BUT…you shouldn’t even pretend to do it. People can get seriously hurt! 4. Anything Involving Fireworks, Flames, Smoke Bomb, Fires: Unless getting arson charges is your goal, you’re probably best to avoid any of these marvelous ideas as well! 5. Photocopying Your Butt: Most offices do have security cameras, so you’ll likely get in trouble. Even if you don’t get in trouble…well, you might end up like this guy: 6. Tampering With Mail Boxes: Doing anything with a mailbox is a federal offense. Don’t go there! Though it would be a good day to deal with all that junk mail you’ve been getting. 7. Messing With People’s Food: Well, you could probably do some harmless things, like make a cake with salt…but for the most part with just about everybody anymore having food allergies you probably don’t want to mess with people’s food either. You don’t want to make them sick or worse not be able to breathe and have to be rushed to the emergency room! It’s also not cool to mix non-food things with food - not worth the risks of poisoning your friends. 8. Creating Mass Panic: This is another bad idea. You don’t want hundreds or thousands of people in a panic about a bunch of nonsense. Be careful you Twitter addicts with lots of followers! 9. Giving People False Hope: It’s just not nice to make someone think something good is going to happen, and then it doesn’t. How would you feel if I told you I was going to send all of my subscribers $20…and then didn’t. It wouldn’t even be funny. 10. Do the Same Pranks As Everybody Else: Last April Fool’s day just about every blogger out there said they were selling their blog. Or something along those lines. It was pretty lame when you see it over and over again. Be creative! If you can’t think of anything good, just do what I did and write a lame post about bad ideas for April Fool’s Day. At least that way fewer people will do stupid things hopefully. What’s the worst April Fool’s day prank you’ve ever seen or done or had someone do to you? Want to share an April Fool’s Day prank gone bad? Share it in the comments below!

Dear Jason, ideas to Fix Mahalo’s problems.
Dear Jason Calacanis, I was visiting your blog today, and I noticed that Advertising Age today and noticed Mark Simon criticized Mahalo. Evidently, he’s can’t believe that human powered search can work. He specifically says: var AdBrite_Title_Color = '0000FF'; var AdBrite_Text_Color = '000000'; var AdBrite_Background_Color = 'FFFFFF'; var AdBrite_Border_Color = 'FFFFFF'; Your Ad Here 6. “HUMAN-POWERED” SEARCH ENGINES. The reason search engines are much better places to find information than directories is because they leverage automation to do the grunt work that human editors used to do. Well, Jason, I can’t help but agree. As I’ve pointed out, the guides you have working on Mahalo are having some difficulty applying the style guide, catching dead links, and catching sneaky redirects that appear after the page is published. Still, I know you plan to persist in the insane endeavor you call “Mahalo”. As long as you are, I’d like to make a few suggestions. I think you will recognize the underlying goal of each: Let computers and ‘bot do what they do well, let humans do what they do well! So, here goes: Create ‘bots to count ads: Problem: Currently, your guides evidently need to sift through hundreds and hundreds of ad laden pages to find the ones that aren’t full of ads. This is a costly waste of time. Their time would be better spent comparing the less ad-intensive sites and deciding which is best. Solution: Write a ‘bot that permits the user to enter a Google search. After the Google search is run, let the ‘bot load the content of each page, identifies each (using the same method available to the FireFox extension AdBlockerPlus) and count the number of ads. Then return a link results page that includes only pages with limited numbers of ads. To catch cloaked affiliate ads, you may need to extend the ‘bot to follow all links and watch whether the link passes through a redirect. Flag those as suspicious. Create ‘bots to discover redirects on Mahalo links:Problem: Aggressive marketers will identify Mahalo pages, and persuade the page owner to allow them to redirect the page to a substitute page. Josiah Cole notes this happened to Mahalo’s Jesus in Food page. Solution: Store the content of original pages. Write a ‘bot that loads each link on Mahalo. Record the url of the final destination page. If the url has changed, have this noted in a database. Send humans to check that page promptly. Create ‘bots to notice changes in content.Problem: Links die. This has already happened. I identified five several dead-ish links at new sources on your Climate Change page. They weren’t entirely dead, but the story had moved. Solution: Cache the source of all pages linked on Mahalo. Write a ‘bot that compare the current version of pages to old pages using the sorts of algorithms used by plagiarism checkers. (Andy Beard described a Iplagiarism.) When the content of the new site deviates substantially from the old content, send a human to check the page. Create online rubrics to ensure style guides are followed.Problem: Those styles guides are long. Sometimes they are ambiguous. There is some inconsistency in applying the rules. Solution: Have the guides fill out a checklist covering the top ten spammy features only humans can find. No content above the fold? Check a box. Found contact email? Check. Phone? Check. That sort of thing. If the page has to many danger flags, the rubric will catch it. Create ‘bots that check for spam words:Problem: Yes, searches for “Jason Calacanis” point to links about lesbians making out. Solution: When that ‘bot I suggested above loads all the Google search results, have it compare the content to a blacklist of spam terms. Lesbians is in my SpamKarma blacklist– put it in your Mahalo blacklist. If the ‘bot finds a bunch of porn terms, you can be pretty sure it’s a porn site. The guides don’t need to waste their time checking it! Send me a huge box of luxury yarn. Or maybe season tickets to the Lyric Opera. Or something. Ok. This won’t help you at all. But you keep joking you should put me on the payroll. What you really should do is find someone whose first reaction to criticism of Mahalo is to assume there is a problem, and who then says: “If this is a problem, how could we fix it?” ‘Bot can help this insane idea scale. Heck, if you write the correct ‘bot to help the humans, there is a chance you can actually get Mahalo to work within some reasonable budget. Let’s face it, you can hope the public will report your dead links. But in reality, you’ll find more often “the public” will be very eager to suggest their own sites. (For example: my knitting blog is the best blog and belongs on Mahalo. Period. ) Heck, with luck, you’ll find these ‘bots will help you explain why my knitting blog is not the best one (even though it is.) Sincerely, Lucia P.S. I thought explaining how the guides can use javascript to quickly find the duplicate content I told you about before was just the right solution. Not too complicated, implemented quickly. I still think Mahalo isn’t any good yet, but I can now see why they pay you the big bucks. P.S.S. To add to the list– there’s no reason you can’t write the bot to do the plagiarism checks before the human ever loads the page! Tags:mahalo seo

It’s hard to be encouraging, because… well… they’ve heard all the pep talks they can tolerate without choking the living daylights out of people. They don’t want to hear that “it’s going to be ok in the end”… they want to hear “you’re just what our company is looking for, when can you start?” Since I can’t way the latter… and don’t want smacked for saying the former… I say “Hey, I have links to some places you can check out for Work at Home jobs, and a few other websites you can earn get a little cash here and there. Let me send those to you!” I’ve actually been saying that a lot lately, so I’m just going to share it here and direct everyone to The List. Readmore 1 2 3 4 5 Chasing After ideas With a Paper and Pen Posted by Samar | Posted in Productivity Hack | Posted on 21-01-2009 11 Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic. Since my post on recording ideas (in which I practically stuffed a pen in your bags/briefcases/pockets), I decided to add something to my pen carrying habit. Instead of just being satisfied at having a pen in my bag, I decided to make sure to take the pen out every time I had a few minutes. Chasing My Ideas I added a small book in my tote and stuck a pen in it. I took it out every time I was out, was waiting for something or had a few minutes. I took it out on my way to school, waiting for my class, and on my way back. I even pulled it out while playing scrabble as I waited for other people to complete their turns. I wanted to see if I could make ideas come to me when I called them. Coming up a Blank the First Time The first time I took the note book and pen out, all I did was stare at the blank page and finally ended up doodling my name. Not a single thought or idea came to me. The second time, I was getting frustrated again when a thought occurred to me. “What does a person do when brain storming fails?” I wrote it down immediately. All it Can Take is One Idea or Thought to Open the Floodgates That thought is still sitting alone on a page. But it catapulted my brain into overdrive. Soon afterwards my brain was flooding with possibilities in answer to that question. Most of them were discarded almost immediately. But the ideas stemming from them took a whole new direction. Jot Down Everything Suddenly, I’m filling pages. Not every idea I get is good (actually, most of the are plain mediocre) or even well thought out but I write everything down and go through each point later. What seems like a bad idea today, may present an opportunity tomorrow. “Always remember, one bad idea gives rise to 10 better and at least one great one!” That used to be my father’s mantra every time I would stop myself from voicing an idea saying it was ’stupid’. My own mantra? Get the bad ideas out as fast as you can and make way for the great ones. Okay, so I may have heard my dad say that one too. Finally: A Habit Formed After doing this for the past two weeks, scribbling in my notebook has become a habit. My fingers start to itch if I’m sitting idle for more than a few minutes and stepping out without a notebook is unthinkable! What do you do? Do you wait for ideas to come to you or do you go chasing after them? Share and Enjoy: No related posts. Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.

Read the whole story How to find extremely hot ideas for your next posts? Posted by Tamal Anwar | Posted in Better Blogging | Posted on 18-04-2009 16 Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.Lately, a lot of my friends are asking me on how to get new blog post ideas? Now I can’t explain this on one single email or a tweet, so I decided to dedicate a new post about it. 1st approach Take a heavy tool (a hammer would be nice) and then HIT your head with it. All of your frustrations will be gone and there will be new post ideas. -Nah! I’m just kidding. Instead of forcing your brain for new and innovative blog ideas, let’s see how you can bring new ideas naturally, You’re not feeling creative The reason why you’re not finding anything to write is because you’re not feeling creative. A person can’t blog everytime and it depends on your mood. Take some rest and do something else; play video games, outdoor activities, visit a friend and watch TV. You have a blog phobia! You have worked hard on your blog and have built a commitment that you’ll post regularly. Sometimes this commitment builds a pressure in you to update regularly. In most cases, bloggers create extremely low quality posts in the sack of updating the blog. Don’t worry for your readers, they’re not going away. Take a look at my first blog, 2008.tamalanwar.com; I’ve stopped updating that blog for a long time but still there are people who are reading this blog, older posts and via RSS. New post ideas ideas are in your head and you can write when there’s a blog title. So let’s see some of the useful ways that worked for me to generate new post ideas, 1. Read other blogs Subscribe to some blogs and read them regularly. You’ll definitely find some new ideas to blog about. 2. Write some headlines Instead of writing posts, write some headlines for the next week or month. Create a notepad and write those headlines in it. Start writing when you feel creative. 3. Search keywords Take a look at your google analytics data or any other analytics tool and take a look at the keywords. See what keywords visitors are using to find your blog. You can use those keywords to create a brand new post. 4. Ask your readers You can ask your readers what to write next? You can also take questions from twitter, email and any other way you can. Adding a poll can also help you know what others are expecting, “What else you want to read from my blog?“ 5. Post with your posts You can create a post with your older post links mentioned on it. For an example I created a post, Extremely hot guide to start your first blog -this is a collection of my older posts. You can also create a second part of a popular post from your blog. 6. Guest posts Ask your blogger friends to write a guest post on your blog. Sometimes it’ll help you a lot to lose some pressure. 7. Other Medias Read books, watch TV shows, radio or even billboards to find brand new ideas for your blog. You can use stumble upon to discover new blog posts and can also read BBC or CNN updates. Have your say Are you struggling to find new post ideas? How you get new ideas? Please Grab the RSS feed to get more interesting ideas like this one; please ReTweet this post if you like.
