Juli 2009 Kaum hab ich das Stöckchen weiter geworfen kommt es auch schon wieder zu mir zurück. Das hat der Thomas sicher nicht böse gemeint mich schon wieder damit zu behelligen. Na ja, ich bin ja kein Spielverderber. Hier seine Fragen, frisch von seinem Blog kopiert! Welchen Internetprovider kannst Du ruhigen Gewissens weiterempfehlen und warum? Ruhigen Gewissens gar keinen, jedoch bin ich seit Jahr und Tag bei 1&1 und hatte bis jetzt keinen Grund zu wechseln. Im Endeffekt sind die doch alle gleich. Die wollen nur unser Bestes Warum schaffen es die Busse (öffentlicher Nahverkehr) nicht morgens um 5 Uhr pünklich zu sein? Das darfst du mich nicht fragen. Ich fahre kein Bus, noch nicht mal damals in der Schule habe ich mich so fort bewegt. Doch da fällt mir ein das ich einmal mit dem Bus einen Auspuff für mein Auto abgeholt habe in Bergisch Gladbach. Ganz großes Kino! Ich mit dem Teil auf der Schulter in den Bus rein und nach anderthalb Stunden wunderte ich mich das ich immer noch nicht in Lindlar war sondern auf einmal den Kölner Dom in seiner ganzen Pracht vor mir sah. Da war ich glaube ich über sechs Stunden unterwegs, immer mit dem Auspuff auf der Schulter. Irgendwie hab ich da eine Abneigung gegen diese Art der Fortbewegung entwickelt. Außerdem finde ich die Busfahrpläne alles andere als einleuchtend. Was denkst Du über Horroskope? Die sind unheimlich wichtig! Gerade dann wenn man sich nicht sicher ist ob man etwas tun oder lassen soll. Oder ob die süße kleine Blondine aus der Kaffeebude gegenüber einen mag oder nicht. Auf keinen Fall direkt ansprechen sondern erst mal die nächstbeste Zeitung aufgeschlagen und nachgelesen was die Sterne so zu melden haben zu dem Thema. Weil die sehen ja alles von dort oben, bekommen alles mit und sind weiser als die allwissende Müllhalde. Da ich ja ein sehr vorsichtiger Mensch bin sichere ich mich sogar mehrfach ab durch einen Blick in meine 13-eckige Kristallkugel, mit dem Auslesen des Kaffee -und Teesatzes der vergangenen 13 Tage sowie durch den Gebrauch eines Witchbords bei Vollmond exakt um 13:13 Uhr Mittags. Nur von Tarotkarten halte ich Abstand weil ein Deck ja bekanntlich aus mehr als 13 Karten besteht. Da kann man doch dran fühlen das das Humbug ist! So, jetzt muss ich mir schon wieder drei Fragen ausdenken, aber diesmal sinnvolle, die wirklich Licht ins Dunkel bringen. Ist es Nachts wirklich kälter als draußen und wenn ja woran liegt das? Als Kolumbus Amerika entdeckte, hatte er da sein sprichwörtlich berühmtes Ei schon dabei oder hat er es den Indianern geklaut? Glaubst du das es Leben auf dem Mars gibt und was bedeutet das für die Sommersonnenwende? Diese entzückenden Fragen dürfen nun Moni, Oliver und Susanne beantworten! Viel Spaß dabei! Cheers, Jason PeckUnless you’ve been living under a rock you would’ve heard about Twitter.  Now, it seems, even live presenters aren’t immune from it’s charms.  Speaker Olivia Mitchell blogged about using Twitter in a presentation. She provides some very useful tips on harnessing the power of this new social communication tool… Rather than re-blog those Twitter tips here I’ll link to Olivia’s post 8 things I learnt about using Twitter as a participation tool. Laura Bergells over at Maniactive has written some of her own tips on Twitter and presentations in her post, how Twitter can enhance your presentation. I have dipped by to into the world of Twitter, but have yet to fully dive in. So I am not sure how having members of your audience Tweet during your presentation, or as opportune times during breaks, can be of real benefit. I think that Twitter is a potentially great tool. We have already seen examples in the media of how helpful and powerful it can be. But I feel that it could be potentially distracting. Not only distracting for the speaker watching members of his audience Tweet, but also distracting for the audience if the speaker Tweets. And also it could be distracting for everyone not on Twitter. It’s potentially a way to distance and disconnect from certain parts of your audience, which you don’t want to do. Olivia goes some way to redress this balance. But in my own line of speaking using humour as I do, surely twitter would be a distraction to the audience’s focus. Therefore, the laughter potential would be diminished. Admittedly, I am talking about this as a bit of an outsider right now. I haven’t fully engaged with Twitter myself, nor have I decided to experiment and introduce, or welcome, Twitter into my speeches or presentations. By engaging with a tool like Twitter directly into your presentations, you have to think in a different way. You can just hope that Twitter and your presentation will automatically sync up. The fact that Twitter predominantly exists as a 140 character micro-blogging communciation tool, means that we have to potentially think it bite-sized chunks which will allow people to Tweet, or Re-Tweet, your message and soundbites to others in the Twitterverse. So what do you think? Will Twitter and presentations continue to be bedfellows? Is it really a great addition to the speaker’s presentation toolbox? Or just another of life’s interruptions? Cheers, Jason PeckA few weeks ago I decided to review one of the best comedy products that I’ve ever come across, The Fast Start Guide. If you want to learn stand-up comedy, it’s the best way forward. What is so pleasing to me is the fact that this product actually addresses all of the issues I had with the author, Steve Roye’s, other product. I wanted to wait whilst I had a chance to go through some the Killer Stand-up Guide again before I blogged about it. If you wanna know what I found then With that guide you have to remember it’s a great product and is a stream-line version of this, the original. If you want to get your feet wet then The Fast Start Guide is the place to start. If, on the other hand, you want to a huge jump-start to the comedy process then read on… What I’m going to do is write a review about it first, then over a series of future posts track my progress in actually putting the techniques into action and monitoring the results. Finally, if I am able to get the equipment together, I will videotape myself speaking and using the techniques and then provide an evaluation. But that is something that I will have to work on achieving. This guide represents the first and probably still the best investment I have made towards my career so far online. I have to stipulate online because receiving 3 years of acting training does top this product. I previously spoke about how I read a tonne of books about writing and delivering comedy, but this one leaves them all in the dust. I’d have to say that it leaves The Fast Start Guide standing too, but only because of the content. I love the way this product is structured. It provides a context in which the book was written. We get the author’s background and how he struggled as a new comic and then how he eventually went on to become a highly paid comedian in a short space of time. There’s also a bit of a history lesson too telling you where the Killer Stand-up Guide lives in comedy development and how it differs from all the other guides and books on comedy writing and performing. Steve also provides many war stories from his own experiences, so you get the feeling that you’re not alone with what you may go through once you’re out there. Not only that, but there are interactive audio clips which have interviews with other comics, plus you get to hear extracts from Steve’s own gigs. There’s something like 60 multimedia clips. It really involves you in the process of learning stand-up comedy. The main guides are on writing and performing. These two books alone are worth the investment. They are extremely thorough and quite exhaustive. That would be enough for me. But what I also like is the fact that there’s a “Quick Reference Guide”, so you don’t have to trawl through the pages of text in order to quickly double check a technique. What you also get is a short guide called: “Street Joke Secrets for Professional Comedians”. This talks about the benefits of being able to source and edit street jokes. Not only that but it talks about how and where to use them in your act and in what markets. And finally, one of my favourite bonuses is a unique piece of software called: “The Comedy Evaluator Pro”. This software shows you exactly and objectively how funny your material is. It provides a minute-by-minute analysis evaluation and guides on what you need to do to improve your act. That said, what this system does not provide are the ways in which one can get the work and the many different sorts of markets that are available to comedians and professional comedians. The main focus of this book is for the up-and-coming professional comedian, it really goes in depth on learning stand-up comedy. But seeing as the techniques can be readily applied to professional speaking, it would have been great if more of this area were addressed. Not speaking in general, but specifically the application of humour to speeches. Although I can’t imagine you having to apply a lot of thought to achieve that. What this guide also does not deal with is the many ways in which an up-and-coming performer can promote and market themsleves both on and off-line. It doesn’t discuss any of the global comedy festivals either, such as “The Edinburgh Fringe” in Scotland, “Just For Laughs” in Canada or “The Melbourne International Comedy Festival” in Australia. But the benefit of it not including any of that information is that, ultimately, there are more pages focussed towards the writing and performing of comedy material. Focus is what a lot of books on comedy writing seem to lack. That is definitely a good thing because some of the other comedy books that I’ve read don’t spend nearly enough time on writing and performing and jump right into writing sitcoms, comedy spec scripts and one-man shows. If somebody asked my advice on the best place to start in learn stand-up comedy, or developing material as a humorous speaker, I would say that they should definitely start with The Killer Stand-up Guide. Com) Dunia anak di Indonesia sudah semakin kacau. Kisah kekerasan sinetron di televisi, mutu pendidikan yang memprihatinkan, pengajaran dan pengawasan terhadap anak semakin kurang, ditambah lagi dengan kurangnya perhatian dari orangtua. Kesemuanya itu perlu diadakan peninjauan ulang. Kisah nyata ini kemudian terjadi. Seorang anak perempuan berusia 4 tahun bernama Donita tega mencoba meracuni adiknya sendiri yang baru lahir. Kejadian naas ini terjadi di keluarga Sutomo yang bekerja sebagai karyawan perusahaan jasa kontraktor minyak, yang tinggal di bilangan selatan Jakarta pertengahan Januari 2008 lalu. Kejadian ini bermula ketika ibunda Donita, Heni Lastri Sutomo, melahirkan seorang anak perempuan lucu bernama Dina. Kehadiran Dina di tengah-tengah keluarga Sutomo tentu saja menambah kebahagiaan keluarga tersebut. Kasih sayang pun tercurahkan kepada Dina, sang bayi lucu yang baru lahir. Hal tersebut tampaknya membuat Donita cemburu dan merasa tersaingi. Perhatian ayah dan ibunya sepanjang waktu hanya tertuju pada Dina adiknya. Lalu entah darimana datangnya suatu ide, Donita berniat untuk meracuni Si Kecil Dina. Ide sadis itu mungkin saja didapat karena pengaruh sinetron di televisi yang memang sering mengumbar kekerasan. Pertengahan Januari 2008, sudah sejak lima hari belakangan Donita tidur ditemani ibunya karena sang ayah sedang bertugas di rig lepas pantai (offshore) di Bontang, Kalimantan Timur. Sejak sore mereka berdua sudah nyenyak tidur. Sementara Dina tidur di dalam box bayi ditemani Tumini pembantunya. Sekitar pukul 10 malam, Donita mengendap-endap bangkit dari tempat tidur dan keluar kamar untuk mengambil racun tikus yang ada di laci dapur. Kemudian Donita mengoleskan racun tikus tersebut pada puting susu ibunya yang tengah terlelap dengan nyenyak. Hal itu dilakukan dengan harapan agar adiknya akan mati keracunan ketika minum ASI dari puting ibunya,sehingga seluruh perhatian keluarganya pun akan kembali tertuju pada dirinya. Setelah melakukan tindakan sadis itu, Donita kembali merebahkan badannya tidur di samping ibunya seraya mengulum senyum penuh kemenangan. Pada keesokan harinya di rumah Pak Sutomo gempar. Pasalnya Tumini, sang pembantu, berteriak-teriak, “Tolooong… , tolooong… ada mayat di garasi…!” Seisi rumah sontak terbangun. Para tetangga pun berduyun-duyun mendatangi lokasi Tumini berteriak. Bagaimanapun, ini adalah semacam jebakan. Kamu dapat memilih lelaki di lantai tertentu atau lebih memilih ke lantai berikutnya tetapi dengan syarat tidak bisa turun ke lantai sebelumnya kecuali untuk keluar dari toko.. Lalu, seorang wanita pun pergi ke toko “suami” tersebut untuk mencari suami.. Di lantai 1 terdapat tulisan seperti ini : Lantai 1 : Lelaki di lantai ini memiliki pekerjaan dan taat pada Tuhan Wanita itu tersenyum, kemudian dia naik ke lantai selanjutnya. Di lantai 2 terdapat tulisan seperti ini : Lantai 2 : Lelaki di lantai ini memiliki pekerjaan, taat pada Tuhan, dan senang anak kecil Kembali wanita itu naik ke lantai selanjutnya. Di lantai 3 terdapat tulisan seperti ini : Lantai 3 : Lelaki di lantai ini memiliki pekerjaan, taat pada Tuhan, senang anak kecil dan cakep banget. ” Wow”, tetapi pikirannya masih penasaran dan terus naik. Lalu sampailah wanita itu di lantai 4 dan terdapat tulisan Lantai 4 : Lelaki di lantai ini yang memiliki pekerjaan, taat pada Tuhan, senang anak kecil, cakep banget danpekerjaan rumah. suka membantu ”Ya ampun !” Dia berseru, ”Aku hampir tak percaya” Dan dia tetap melanjutkan ke lantai 5 dan terdapat tulisan seperti ini : Lantai 5 : Lelaki di lantai ini memiliki pekerjaan, taat pada Tuhan, senang anak kecil,cakep banget,suka membantu pekerjaan rumah, dan memiliki rasa romantis. ia tergoda untuk berhenti tapi kemudian dia melangkah kembali ke lantai 6 dan terdapat tulisan seperti ini : Lantai 6 : Selamat Anda adalah pengunjung yang ke 4.363.012. Dan Tidak ada lelaki di lantai ini. Lantai ini hanya semata-mata bukti untuk wanita yang tidak pernah puas . Terima kasih telah berbelanja di toko “Suami”. Lalu ibu guru bertanya peda mereka. Ibu Guru : ” Edo, kenapa hari ini kamu datang terlambar?” Edo : “Saya terlambat bangun Bu, karena saya bermimpi ke Amerika   naik pesawat terbang, lalu jalan-jalan disana. Untuk mengenang perjalanannya, dia menulis dalam buku harian. Tanggal 13: Sebuah keberuntungan buatku. Aku berhasil mengenal kapten kapal dan ternyata dugaanku benar. Dia sangat gagah… Aaah beruntungnya aku. Tanggal 14: Tanpa kuduga sang kapten mengajakku makan malam dan… Alamak dia juga memuji kecantikanku… Aku jadi tersanjung. Tanggal 15 : Dia mengajak makan malam lagi. Sang kapten ternyata nakal juga. Dia mulai berani mengajakku bercinta dan menunggu jawabanku besok. Tanggal 16: Dia menagih janji. Dengan jual mahal kutolak dia. (emangnya gua apaan…) eh…dia malah mengancam akan menenggelamkan kapal beserta 1200 penumpangnya. Tanggal 17: Pagi yang cerah. Tentunya wacana ini agak mengagetkan para Facebooker di tanah air. Namun sebenarnya kita harus bisa intropeksi diri mengapa wacana ini bisa muncul. Terjawab sudah (minimal oleh saya pribadi), Alasan MUI kenapa Facebook di haramkan… berikut alasan tersebut yang perlu anda ketahui : 1. Facebook Haram jika membuat kita sampai mengabaikan anak. 2. Facebook Haram jika membuat kita sampai tidak mau beranjak dari depan komputer 3. Facebook Haram jika membuat kita tidak memperhatikan keadaan sekeliling kita 4. Facebook Haram jika membuat kita lupa makan sehingga tubuh kurus kering 5. Facebook Haram jika membuat kita menjadi gemuk, karena gak enak buka facebook tanpa ngemil 6. Keranjingan Facebook tidak mengenal usia, sampe balitapun ikutan jadi Facebooker 7.
