general Mobile DSTL1 sample 5 megapixel photos By Michael Oryl • May 27, 2009 • 2 Comments
general Mobile just sent us a few sample photos shot with its upcoming DSTL1 smartphone. The DSTL1 sports a 5 megapixel autofocus camera that is made by Sony. The images the company sent us are not too exciting, but you can get a feel for what to expect from a production device. The colors look pretty reasonable in the 3 outdoor shots, and sharpness is nice. It’s hard to tell if the bokeh in the background out of focus detail is real, or an after-effect of some sort of digital processing. In either event, it’s not unattractive at all to my eyes. We had to reduce the size of the images to 75% for our system to process them properly, but I’ve included one original size crop so that you can get an idea of what they look like at full resolution. We’re also included two shots of the back of the phone that we hadn’t seen before. #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } Full resolution 100% crop Resized to 75% of original Resized to 75% of original Resized to 75% of original general Mobile DSTL1 general Mobile DSTL1 Categories: Live Photos, PhonesTags: 5 megapixel, dstl1, general mobile

On a slightly different spin on Hot vs Not, here’s my personal 2008 roundup of good vs shit Hot - Four Months of not working over Summer: ’nuff said. - The Stax Records Documentary: without a doubt the highlight of this years Auckland Film Fesitval…I’ve never walked out of a movie theatre with a massive smile, feeling so damn good about everything, and with a strong desire to immediately break into all the local music stores to try and collect all the outstanding music that I had just sampled. Props to the Ninja for finding this on DVD. - The Keith Haring Story - a close 2nd at the Film Festival, telling the story of a legendary artist in New York, in a time when the city was a lot more dangerous, interesting and inspirational. His work continues to be unlike anyone elses… - Roy Ayers, Stevie Wonder: Propah soul. Crazy vibes, pianos and mumu’s. - Kraftwerk: Groundbreaking and timeless electronic music that continues to sound as relevant as ever. Held, for once, in a decent venue with a soundsystem that did the music justice. Bowel-moving bass and crisp highs, complimentary visuals and four guys standing behind keyboards and computers - plus actual robots! The only thing that let this gig down was the power-hungry security who were on your back if you even looked at switching your camera on. - Luciano in Sydney: The second BMP road trip (unfortunately sans 2 BMP members) saw us cruising around the Sydney harbour on a pimped-out boat with Luciano seamlessly weave together stripped down percussion-led grooves with classic techno and festive horn-blasting tracks. It was great to finally hear KenLou’s “Bangin’” on a big system, 10 years after it was originally released, and it didn’t disappoint. And if you needed a break from the crazy Chilean’s style, the top deck of the boat was host to Greg Wilson, classic disco-styles and lotsa sunshine. - Das Ist Minimal: One of the few times I truly enjoyed DJ’ing this year… the fact that Mick & Benny had tirelessly spent some time before the gig tweaking the system and warming it up nicely payed off for myself and fellow DJ’s Nabbs and Shane54. We were all given free range to play what we wanted, and the end-of-night back-to-back session with my fellow BMPers was awesome. - BMP Towers: Minimal in every way. We <3 Beanbags. - The return of Grace Jones. Freakalicious, even after all these years. - Discovering who ya real mates are. Not: - Losing BMP members (and a PGF) to the innevitable overseas lure . Lucky bastards. We miss you. - The continued downward spiral of the NZ club scene. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, we carry on getting the same string of shtty, were-never-any-good-to-begin-with DJ’s, or acts that were relavent at one time, but by the time they reach our shores it’s all a bit too late. - George FM. Forward thinking radio programming…from 5 years ago. - More stupid sub-genre names. What the fuck is “Space Disco”? And I still despise “Tech-House” as well. Do you really need to mount yourself on a ridiculous mid-way fencepost because you can’t decide if you want to House or Techno? Is there some problem with being both? Did I miss a meeting? - Doors with fucked locks. - Still being in NZ. - Sickness. Questionable: - The Ninja’s viewing choices. Hugh Jackman worshipping a hairy tree was never going to inspire peaceful dreams, you bastard. - 2008 in general.

We’ve already talked about Edwin Barnes having a burning desire to be Thomas Edison’s partner. Now let’s put that desire into a clearer perspective. “One of the chief characteristics of Barnes’ Desire was that it was definite. He wanted to work with Edison, not for him. Pay close attention to the description of how he went about translating his desire into reality, and you will have a better understanding of the thirteen principles which lead to riches. “When this desire, or thought-impulse, first flashed into his mind he was in no position to act on it. Two hurdles stood in his way. He did not know Thomas Edison, and he did not have enough money to pay his railroad fare to Orange, New Jersey. “These obstacles would have been enough to discourage most men from making any attempt to carry out the desire. But Barnes’ was no ordinary desire! He was so determined to find a way to carry out his desire that he finally decided to travel by “blind baggage,” rather than face defeat. (To the uninitiated, this means he took a freight train to East Orange).” Prime Characteristic Of Success Barnes’ ‘burning’ desire shows that he truly wanted the success he envisioned, but there was another factor at work within that desire—definiteness. Barnes was very definite, very clear and determined in what he wanted, exactly. He did whatever he needed to do to turn his desire into reality, but he did not do so haphazardly; he set off as a stow-away determined to get the exact thing he wanted more than anything else. That is a prime characteristic of successful and wealthy people. I will see you back here Monday and Thursday every week for the continuation of the Mindset Mastery series.

MMS Information
Testimonial: I sent a short version of this to Jim Humble and understand it’s posted somewhere. Use all or part. Thanks!
I’ve been experimenting with MMS for some time using myself as a guinea pig. I changed nothing except to introduce and increase MMS in increments and monitor how I felt. It was a strict test.
For a year I’ve been monitoring health and over-all fitness using a wonderful Russian machine. It tests 13 levels of functioning of all the physiological systems. It’s a 6 minute test; 3 minutes supine, 3 standing. It calculates chronotropic reaction, compensation response and Ortho-test ratios. A graph ranges from 1.1 (World class fitness) to 13.7 (Not-so-good). Being involved in alternative health for 30+ years and knowing what I was doing (Diet, exercise, supplements), In 4 tests, spaced months apart and being a very good boy, I could not get out of the 12-13 range.
After less than a week on MMS (6 drops X 2) I thought I’d check and record my blood pressure. BP was low, as usual, but I was stunned to see a resting heart rate of 60! For years my pulse was at 80-85 and I’d have episodes of intermittent racing and irregular HR since I was in my teens* I’m now 75..
A few days later I took the test again and it registered 9.4…well into the healthy range. The operator of the machine fell off his chair claiming I’d gained 20 years of “Robustness.” He’d never seen such improvement. A few days later I had a holistic dentist friend check my mouth. He was amazed to find my teeth more “firm” and the gums pink and healthy…even though I smoke cigars. Both practitioners are now taking MMS,
I re-took the test 3 weeks later in another state. I was now up to 15 drops at night. The chart read 8.4 indicating further improvement.
I work out. HR never used to go up much above 100 while exercising and I did not sweat a lot. Sometimes the HR would not not recover smoothly and tachycardia would set in. Now, HR goes to 120-125 and I sweat a lot. HR recovery is smooth and steady.
The problem is, I can’t figure out what’s changed. I’d been through heavy metal detox, years ago with no positive results. I’ve tried many holistic/alternative protocols. Heart worm was suggested…but, I feel my 60+ year problem was electrical and can’t figure out how MMS corrected the problem..
Additional positive observations: Heat tolerance much better. Thyroid and adrenals test better using muscle resistance. 5 drop dose 20 minutes before exercise seems to increase exercise tolerance (To early to tell for sure). All systems seem to be better “Balanced.”
Negatives: Threw up twice. Diarrhea several times…then constipation for a week.
* When I was 11-12 I made 25 cents an hour working at a florist. One of my jobs was to place and light fused pesticide bombs in the the middle of greenhouses and run like heck. There were times they went off early…. 40’s pesticides were pretty potent.

Carl Just contacted HealthSalon again with this update.
I took the test I wrote about again. This time it
came down 3 points to 5.4 (Look it up on the link I
sent. So the scores for a year were:
13.5, 13.2, 12.9 Began MMS: 9.4, 3 weeks later 8.4.
3 weeks later 5.4.
For two weeks I’ve been experimenting taking
5-6 drops of MMS before a workout. On several
weight involved exercises I was “Stuck” for a year…
inability to increase repetitions. I am now able
to add 40-50% more Reps.. I’ve done this often
enough to determine this effect is “Real”…for me.

12th Malaysia’s general Election - Have You Voted?
Yes i did!
First thing first, we went to Kuan Im Teng. After all today is chor yat in Chinese calendar.
Our first pooling venue is my primary and secondary school. It’s for my mom. For sis and me it was a walk back to memory lane. So much happy days in this school.
It was around 11am and not many people has come out to vote.
Then I went to my form 6 school, my voting venue. For a moment at the polling booth, I thought I need to put a ‘tick’. Stopped myself there. Eh that’s undi rosak la. Apala saya!!! Quickly I put two crosses on the light orange and orange paper. My choices were very different from 4 years ago.
Grandma decided not to vote this time around for her legs are not strong enough for the staircase.

OSCAR AL INTERÉS GENERAL
25 Febrero 2007

general Mobile have been flaunting renders of their DLST1, the handset they intend to be their first Android smartphone. With a 3-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash (made by Sharp) and WiFi b/g, the specs certainly look promising. Still, there’s plenty of work to be done before general Mobile’s intended Q3 2009 launch.
For a start, the buttons are getting a rework – there aren’t enough for Android’s required home, back, menu, send and end – and the display may be overhauled as well. general Mobile still aren’t sure whether its 400 x 240 WQVGA resolution will be high enough for Android applications, and if not the panel will be changed. We’re hoping they also rethink the connectivity, too, as the preliminary specs list cellular data as topping out at GSM/EDGE.
The DSTL1 also has dual-SIM slots, with the facility to have both lines active simultaneously, together with Bluetooth. Under the hood a 624MHz Marvell PXA 310 processor keeps things chugging. It measures 112 x 54 x 16mm, weighs 135g, and should be making an appearance at Mobile World Congress next month.

//
The best leaders are great simplifiers. Often, they are outspoken, politically incorrect and offensive; they don’t worry much about hurt feelings. They focus on goals and action.
George S. Patton lead armies in Africa and Europe in WWII, covering more ground, engaging more of the enemy and suffering fewer casualties and losses than any other commander. Here are some of his thoughts on people and management:
On Success
“By perseverance, and study, and eternal desire, any man can become great.”
“Never stop being ambitious. You have but one life, live it to the fullest of glory and be willing to pay any price.”
“No sacrifice is too great if by it you can attain your goals. Let people talk and be damned. You do what leads to your ambition and when you get the power, remember those who laughed.”
“You are not beaten until you admit it.”
“Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory.” “I don’t measure a man’s success by how high he climbs but by how high he bounces when he hits bottom.”
“The man who finds twenty dollars on the street or wins it at the slot machine thinks lightly of it, and before long it is as lightly spent. The same man who works and sweats for half a week for that same amount respects it and grudgingly parts with it when he has won it.”
“You must be single minded. Drive for the one thing on which you have decided. You will find that you will make some people miserable; those you love and very often yourself. And, if it looks like you are getting there, all kinds of people, including some whom you thought were loyal friends, will suddenly show up doing their…hypocritical best to trip you up, blacken you, and break your spirit.”
On Supervising and
Quality
“Don’t tell people how to do things, tell them what to do and let them surprise you with their results.”
“Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.”
“We can never get anything across unless we talk the language of the people we are trying to instruct. Perhaps that is why I curse.”
“Officers must assert themselves by example and by voice.”
“Like all commanders, I am constantly faced with the problem of malingering. If it is not checked, it spreads like a prairie fire.”
On
Business Leadership
“Always do everything you ask of those you command.”
“Leadership is the thing that wins battles. I have it, but I’ll be damned if I can define it. It probably consists of knowing what you want to do, and then doing it and getting mad as hell if anyone tries to get in your way. Self confidence and leadership are twin brothers.”
“Bradley called up to ask me how soon I could go on the defensive. I told him that I was the oldest leader in age and in combat experience in the United States Army in Europe and that if I had to go on the defensive, I would ask to be relieved. I further suggested that it would be a good thing if some his staff visited the front to see how the other half lived.”
“The more senior the officer, the more time he has to go to the front.”
“The following pun always elicited great applause in the Great War; “If the staff of life is bread, what is the life of the staff? One long loaf!”
“It is really amazing what the determination on the part of one man can do too many thousands.”
“There is a great deal of talk about loyalty from the bottom to the top. Loyalty from the top down is even more necessary and is much less prevalent. One of the most frequently noted characteristics of great men who have remained great is loyalty to their subordinates.”
On Taking Action
“A good plan violently executed right now is far better than a perfect plan executed next week.”
“Throughout history wars have been lost because of armies not crossing rivers.”
“I don’t want to get any messages saying that, “We are holding out position.” We’re not holding anything…We are advancing constantly and we’re not interested in holding on to anything except the enemy…We’re going to hold on to him by the nose and we’re going to kick him…”
“We must keep moving. Do not sit down. Do not say, “I have done enough.” Always see what else you can do to raise hell with the enemy. You must have a desperate determination to continually go forward.”
On Winning the War
“Peace is going to be a hell of a letdown.”
Which of these quotes can you use this week to move your organization forward?
